Skillfluence is the data controller. This means Skillfluence is responsible for how it uses and processes your personal data, and for complying with requests from you in relation to your personal data where appropriate under the legislation.
This policy applies to participants that sign up to Skillfluence online training on the Thinkific platform.
To sign up to our online training programme, we will need to collect your personal data and use it to correspond with you about the course, the progress you’re making and for evaluation purposes.
Your personal data – what is it?
Personal data relates to a living individual (data subject) who can be identified from that data. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in Skillfluence’s possession or likely to come into such possession. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”).
To administer the online training, we need to collect, store and process your personal data, which may include the following information:
- Information about your identity, comprising first name, last name, title.
- Employment information, including employer, job title, workplace address.
- Contact information, including billing address, delivery address, email address, and telephone numbers.
- Transaction information, including details about payments to and from you.
- Usage information, including information about how you use our website and services.
- Assignment material such as written, photographic or media content attributable to you/featuring you.
- Recording a live training element for quality control purposes.
How do we process your personal data and why?
Skillfluence complies with its obligations under the “GDPR” by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.
We use your personal data for the performance of our contract with you or your employer/host institution to:
- Fulfil our contractual obligations.
- Provide you with open communication during our training delivery.
- Provide you with feedback on your progress.
- Ensure our Trainers provide content that meets our standards.
Sharing your personal data:
For participants enrolled on behalf of their organisation, we may have to share your personal data with your employer/host institution to fulfil our contractual services.
For all participants, your personal data is stored and is accessible to Thinkific to enable the delivery of their online service of your course enrolment, progression and interactions (quiz scores etc).
How we look after your information:
Once we have received your information it remains on the Thinkific platform in secure cloud storage accessible only to contracted employees of Skillfluence. Thinkific is a Canadian company and Canada is acknowledged to operate at a standard equivalent to the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
If we record a session for quality control purposes, the delivery platform will indicate that and you will be advised. When the recording is downloaded, any personal data of participants will be edited and deleted. Zoom is based in the US and is covered by the EU-US Privacy Shield.
How long do we keep your personal data?
We will hold your details for the duration of your contracted delivery and for 5 years after course completion.
Your rights and your personal data:
Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR or any other corporate compliance or legal requirement, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- The right to request a copy of your personal data which Skillfluence holds about you.
- The right to request that Skillfluence corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date.
- The right to request your personal data is erased or anonymised where it is no longer necessary for Skillfluence to retain such data.
- The right to withdraw your consent at any time.
- The right to request that Skillfluence provides the data subject with their personal data in a commonly used electronic format.
- The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.

Like many other websites, we use "cookies" to help us gather and store information about visitors to our websites.
